KOSO NIPPON Dialogue Series, Part 1: Raising the Resolution of Democracy
KOSO NIPPON, a Japanese policy think tank, has started a three-part dialogue series with Plural Reality on its note blog. Part 1 discusses how today's democratic systems compress a hundred different views into a choice between A and B, and how technology can move beyond this.
The dialogue features Hideki Kato (President, KOSO NIPPON), Shun Tanaka (Executive Director, KOSO NIPPON), and Shunsuke Takagi and Shutaro Aoyama (co-founders, Plural Reality).
Part 1 looks back on introducing Cartographer and other tools at the Residents Council in Ota City, Gunma. It discusses keeping views multidimensional rather than reducing them to A or B, and using AI not to make work more efficient but to help each person notice what they actually think.
