KOSO NIPPON Dialogue Series, Part 3: Where Residents Councils Meet Plural Reality
The final part of our dialogue series with KOSO NIPPON, a Japanese policy think tank, has been published. It discusses rethinking concepts such as mini-publics and representative democracy from first principles, and the role of physical presence in the age of AI.
The dialogue features Hideki Kato (President, KOSO NIPPON), Shun Tanaka (Executive Director, KOSO NIPPON), and Shunsuke Takagi and Shutaro Aoyama (co-founders, Plural Reality).
The final part discusses how AI could dissolve the boundary between small residents' assemblies and society-wide dialogue, AI's role in translating residents' everyday conversations into policy language, and designing tools that protect people's time to think rather than doing the thinking for them.
